It is like the breathe of a fresh air. Just within 100 days of a new Obama presidency, many nations are changing from ” anti American” to “pro American”. One can feel the profound edgeness of Americans, on the propect of eminent wars with some unknown enemies, go away. An edgeness promoted and used by the previous administration, for political purpose. There is also a strong feeling that we are more secure than before. This could be attributed to president Obama’s style of leadership. He is quick to make decisions and quick to assume responsibilty on all issues, be they domestic or international. His confident approach to problems is greatly robbing off on the American people. He has handled foreign policy with grace and humility instead of arrogance. There is an African saying “that a dangerous, strong snake does not go about showing her teeth.”. The world knows we are strong. The know what we are capable of doing. We do not need to go about flaunting our might or strength.
Republicans call his approach “timid”, but I call them honorable. The more we attempted to confront leaders like Chavez, the more he sought the friendship and allignment with our “not so friendly nations” Now there is chance and need to bring back folks like Chavez and pursue foreign policies based on peace and mutual respect. No more axis of evil , just international diplomacy.
The economy would eventually recover and when it does, Obama’s presidency would go down in history as a unique, successful one, that brought us lots of glory and restored world peace. As Americans, we need to be very patient. Someone screwed things up and it would take time to clean up the mess. It is a huge one. Unfortunately, there were people who stood by and watched this happen. The same people that are offering advise and saying no to everything, including the breathe we take. We would breathe again, as a great nation.
